The History Of The Music Video

There's a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson that I love, which is, "That which we persist in doing becomes easy to do; not that the nature of the thing has changed, but that our power to do has increased." Emerson really hit the nail on the head with that one. As I think about virtually everything that I've accomplished in my life that I'm really proud of, it's always something that I've accomplished by being persistent and refusing to quite. Whether it's learning to play guitar, licensing my music, building my businesses or having great relationships, it's all required persistence and determination despite the inevitable obstacles that I've faced along the way.

kelsey-grammer-marriage.jpg

We didn't doubt the news, but glad to hear you're still in lurve.

According to previous reports, Kelsey Grammer has been pushing for a quickie divorce from his wife Camille in order to finally make it down the aisle with his new fiancee, Kayte Walsh. To clear the air and make sure we all have the right information, Kelsey released an official statement confirming the upcoming wedding. He told sources:

"Kayte and I are marrying because we are engaged, and we are engaged because we are in love and see no reason to postpone our happiness any longer. We are planning something we wish to be a private affair among several of our friends. Anything else is conjecture and false. Kayte and I are the only reliable source for this story. End of story."

Wait, no end of story. What about Camille?

C'mon, fess up!

My Favorite Rock Groups The Bee Gees

When it comes to learning to play the guitar, there is a lot more you need to know than how to play the chords and solos. The guitar is a complicated instrument with a lot of different parts. You have to care for your guitar. This is so your guitar will last for a long time, but it's also so that your guitar will sound its best. The truth of the matter is that when guitarists don't take care of their instruments, they are sacrificing the high quality sounds.

Music is a great way to encourage children to be more creative and to express themselves. Injured ‘Spider Man: Turn Off The Dark’ Actor Will Spend Xmas Hospitalized

On Monday Broadway actor Christoper Tierney fell 30 feet and was injured in a failed stunt during a performance of the cursed musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. As you may recall, Tierney‘s fall caused quite a bit of drama for the embattled Broadway musical … but, at last, the show will begin performances TONIGHT. [...]

David and I made the brave decision to make our way to The Grove last night so that we could walk around the outdoor shopping center to take in the Xmas decorations, pick up a few last minute things and pretty much just hang out. Fortunately for us, the massive crowds weren’t an issue nor was the, thankfully, dry weather. No, when I was bleeding all over the floor at World Market not 10 minutes into our arrival, I knew it was going to be a special night.

Let me tell you, broken glass ornaments are no joke … NO JOKE PEOPLE! While perusing the Xmas offerings at World Market, I reached out to pick up a cute little glass bird thing and little did I know that it was broken. A very sharp piece of the glass poked right into my fingertip and SQUIRT! out came the blood. I was so surprised, I didn’t know what to do … but by the time the 8th big drop of blood splashed onto the floor, I grabbed a newspaper flyer and wrapped my finger. It took a bit of time but the folks at World Market came over to clean up the blood and whisk me into the back storeroom so that I could wash my finger and get it all bandaged up … OH and to fill out 3 forms to document the accident. To be honest, I was more embarrassed than anything else … and I ended up buying a NOT BROKEN glass bird for our Xmas tree so … yeah, that was the most exciting part of the night.

The rest of the night was fairly nice, yet uneventful. We managed to get “snowed” on by the fake snow that The Grove pumps into the air … snow that is made out of soap, so if you inhale it, get it in your eyes or swallow it … it makes you want to die. Xmas in LA, folks.

Tonight, David and I will be sharing our first Xmas Eve dinner together so we are looking forward to that. I have a few Xmas specials I want us to watch … deffo A Charlie Brown Christmas, most likely Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and hopefully White Christmas (which will be a hard sell for David but … well, Xmas miracles do happen). I hope all y’all have a fabulous Xmas Eve tonight. May Santa Claus make your Xmas wishes come true … and Happy Holidays!!

Our dear Britney Spears and her beau Jason Trawick packed up their bags and made their way to the East Coast yesterday, presumably to spend the holiday weekend in NYC together. Britney, with her cute pink hoodie and not-too–cute black UGGs boots, and Jason — with Xmas gifts in hand — were spotted making their way thru JFK Airport late yesterday evening upon arrival.

As you may know, Jason‘s family lives in NY (I believe they are on Long Island) so it’s nice to see that Britwick decided to spend Xmas with them, especially since they spent Thanksgiving in Kentwood, LA with Britney‘s family last month. Here’s hoping Britney‘s little Xmas Elves — Sean Preston and Jayden James — will be able to join their mother and Jason in NY before Santa Claus makes his appointed rounds tonight ;)

Ultimate Guitar Tab A Guide to Finding Great Tablature Online

Companies like Boss, Ibanez and Digitech began mass producing single effect pedals in the 70′s and 80′s, but professional guitarists began to realize that chaining together 8 or 10 (or more) effects pedals together into one pedal board became cumbersome, so the rack-mount multi effect unit was born. This allowed players like David Gilmour to re-create their incredible recorded sounds in a live setting.

Yesterday was Election Day here in the US and for the most part, all of the candidates and propositions that I voted for here in California either won or passed … so, on that front, I am happy:

Naturally, I’m not at all happy with the way many elections turned out in the rest of the country but as a student of political science, I was not only prepared for it … I was expecting it. Midterm elections tend to swing back and forth wildly from one party to the other so it came as no surprise that control of the House of Representatives went to the Republican party. All 435 seats in the House go up for reelection every 2 years so it’s natural that control can change drastically from election to election. I’m actually most concerned about the 2012 election more than anything. We’ll have to see how things turn out in 2 years time.

Last night I met up with my dear Angi for dinner at La Boheme in West Hollywood, CA and we had a fantastic time together. I always have a great time just hanging out and chatting with Angi … tho, eating together adds to the fun, too ;) We had a fine night.

I have tentative plans to hang out with Adriana tonight, so hopefully those plans will pan out. It’s gonna be in the 90′s today here in La today … so, yeah, it’s gonna be a Hot Hump Day!

itunes extends song previews from 30 to 90 seconds

How frustrating is it trying to find a song you're unsure of with only 30 seconds to go on?

It WAS very frustrating, but it won't be anymore, because Apple has decided to triple song preview lengths on iTunes from 30 to 90 seconds!

As long as the song isn't less than 2 minutes and 30 seconds, you'll now have 90 seconds to decide if a song is worth purchasing or not.

Here's a statement by Apple from a letter they sent to labels:

"We are pleased to let you know that we are preparing to increase the length of music previews from 30 seconds to 90 seconds on the iTunes Store in the United States. We believe that giving potential customers more time to listen to your music will lead to more purchases."

We agree! Sometimes you THINK you found the right song, but if the preview starts at the wrong place, you may never get to the chorus to find out.

We're glad to hear we'll never have to worry about that again!

Awesome move, Apple! We're impressed and excited for longer song previews!

What do U think of Apple's decision? Will longer song previews affect your decision to purchase songs from iTunes?
