Live DJs, not the famous radio kind, have come a long way since I used to go to the local youth club as a kid, back then they were very tacky looking bearded hippies who used to play 60's and 70's records while getting secretly drunk and chatting up the local ladies. If you were lucky they had a couple of colored lights with them, you know, to really get the party started, back then it was more about the beer getting the audience going than the performance of the guy (it was always guys).
