Helen Mirren Makes Her Mark In Hollywood
Jake Gyllenhaal was all smiles … and frowns … and grimaces on the red carpet of the Hollywood premiere of his new film Source Code last night. The premiere event took place at the ArcLight Cinemas here in LA and as you can see from the photos below, Jake showed off a whole range of emotions on the red carpet.
I mean, even when Jakey poo is looking’ pissy he still looks hawt. Not only am I excited to see Jake in a new film (a film that is getting pretty good reviews, I might add) but Source Code was directed by Duncan Jones … the man who directed the fantastic film Moon. Oh yeah, he also happens to be David Bowie‘s son, too. I’ve been impressed with the stuff I’ve seen from the film thus far … this is a movie that I don’t wanna miss.

Will DanRad Bring His Success To The Big Screen?
The reviews are in and much more rather than less, people are really digging Daniel Radcliffe on Broadway in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.
But what does the future hold? If the show really takes off on Broadway, is there a chance DanRad would follow the show to the big screen for a [...]
This is going to get nasty.
A date has been set for Charlie Sheen to finally legally go head-to-head against Warner Bros and Chuck Lorre over him being fired from Two and a Half Men.
Rather than bore you with a lot of legal jargon, we're going to explain the dealio fairly simply - Charlie wants what Charlie wants and he isn't going to stop until he gets it. Right now, what he wants is his $100 million lawsuit against the studio and the exec to be a public trial. He wants the whole dog-and-pony show aired live around the world for everyone to see. That's the last thing the WB/Chuck want, so they are fighting him on that point before they even get to the $100mil lawsuit.
So, on April 19, all parties will go to court to decide on whether or not this whole thing should play out in court.
Make sense? Good!
If not, blame Charlie.

Sad! Occupy Oakland Protestor Gets Shot In The Face! Video Goes Viral!
This is getting so out of control. We're not happy that this movement, once peaceful and SOMETHING, has now turned to bloodshed.
Last night, a group of 1,000 protesters in Oakland, CA were gassed and shot at by the local police after they allegedly "started throwing bottles, paints, beer, eggs" at officers. Late into the night, [...]
Oh man. Talk about INSPIRED casting!
Jennifer Coolidge will reportedly be joining the cast of 2 Broke Girls!
The HIGHlarious actress will apparently appear in recurring context, as Sophie, a hard-working woman who moves into Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs' Williamsburg apartment!
Even better? Michael Patrick King wrote the part specifically FOR her!
Holy shiz! We can't even BEGIN to imagine where this will go, but we are super excited to find out!

Watch Whoopi GO OFF On The Donald!
Hot Topics got extra HEATED this morning!
Whoopi Goldberg lost her cool with Donald Trump this morning on The View after he began pushing the issue of President Obama "hiding" his birth certificate.
The conversation escalated and escalated until Whoopi (and Barbara Walters, to an extent) became enraged with The Donald and told him what for.
Ooo! [...]
To quote Kanye West's song So Appalled, "life can be sometimes ridiculous."
This is one of those times.
During a recent interview, 8-year-old Britney Campbell of San Francisco claimed that her mother, Kerry, injects her with Botox so she'll "become a star":
"My friends think it's cool I have all the treatments and they want to be like me. I check every night for wrinkles, when I see some I want more injections. They used to hurt, but now I don't cry that much."
Apparently, Britney's mom tests the Botox first before injecting her daughter, as if that makes it any less creepy/disturbing/abusive.
Kerry Campbell also claims that her daughter "…has her virgin wax monthly, which gets rid of her fluffy leg hair and makes sure she won't develop pubic hair in the future."
But does Kerry actually think she's doing a good thing for Britney?:
"More mothers should do it for their daughters."
So crazy…and disturbing. We seriously hope this ends up being a hoax.
YUCK!

R.I.P.
This is absolutely awful.
Charlotte Leatherbarrow, a 12-year-old dancer who was appearing in the Billy Elliot musical in London, was hit and killed upon impact by a double-decker bus while crossing the road near her home in South London on Thursday.
Charlotte's family described her as a "fun loving, thoughtful, caring and bubbly girl" and said in [...]
Such a powerful interview. All the more reason that this kind of behavior needs to be STOPPED.
Casey Heynes, the 15 year old boy who became the underdog's hero overnight after a video of him defending himself against a relentless bully went viral, sat down for an exclusive interview on A Current Affair tonight, and revealed, among other things, that he has been so tormented by his peers his entire that last year, he even considered killing himself.
Unbelievable. It's so frightening to think how commonplace this kind of behavior has become.
Please watch the full interview (above).
Casey is such a well-spoken, thoughtful young man, and we're so proud of him for making the right choice and standing up for himself. Hopefully, his story will serve as a wake-up call to adults, teachers, and peers and remind us all that it's our job to prevent this kind of behavior before it escalates into violence.
Casey didn't lose his life, but there are many other kids out there, alone, tormented, and confused who need the support that he is now getting.

Bradley Cooper Renée Zellweger Are Dunzo!
The final installment of the Harry Potter film franchise will open in theaters this Summer, mere months away, and today we get our first look at some of the footage from the final Potter film. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 will conclude the tale that has captured the hearts and minds of both young and old the world over for the better part of the last decade. Check out behind the scenes video below that gives us a taste of what’s to come in the final film due out in July.
The end is nigh, for real this time. Part 1, released last Fall, was just the precursor to the final showdown to come. I know I’m gonna be bawling like a baby when it’s all said and done. This preview video is a great tease for the final film. I can’t wait to see more … tho, to be honest, I’m really dreading the end of Harry Potter :(

Good.
We're glad they're moving pretty swiftly on this, because violence like this can't go unpunished for long.
Jared Lee Loughner, the alleged shooter from that day in Arizona, has now been indicted on 49 counts.
The counts include the three counts of attempted murder (including Giffords') from January, and adds to them a plethora of others:
It charges him with murder in the death of John Roll, a federal judge, and Gabriel Zimmermann, a staff member for Giffords.
It also charges him with causing the deaths of Dorothy J. Morris, Phyllis C. Schneck, Dorwan C. Stoddard and a child at a federally provided activity, federal prosecutors said in a statement.
We really hope that this sicko gets all the repercussions he deserves for his deeds.
One of our favorite and absolutely true phrases around here is that violence is never the answer. Ever.
But what's scary is that, even if he actually is or not, mental illness can sometimes remove the ability to rationally control what that phrase is trying to imbue.
So if you see ANY kind of warning signs in someone, let's make sure to get them help and try to avoid the tragedy that could come from it!
Our thoughts go out to everybody still recovering from that day.
Thoughts?

Watch: Garbage Previews Their New Song Big Bright World
This post is going to be a bit self-indulgent so, please bear with me. Yesterday afternoon, I had grand expectations about getting out onto the streets of NYC and running along the Hudson River — and it was going to be PERFECT. The reality was that after a day of flying and a night of not sleeping well, I probably wasn’t ready to enjoy the run of a lifetime. After I did my work yesterday, I decided to get out and run … but after my expectations weren’t met, I ended up having a crappy day … and I have no one to blame but myself.
I have a lot of excuses as to why my run yesterday wasn’t the best (didn’t eat, didn’t sleep, blah blah blah) but in the end, I let myself psyche myself out. I started out strong then crashed out midway thru my run. Instead of focusing on the positives (the amazing weather, the beautiful scenery, the fact that I was able FOR THE FIRST TIME to run with other runners) I immediately got pissed, hated the entire run and let my mood sink into pitiful anger. I was in no mood to do anything for the rest of the day … and that is sad because I don’t get to experience NYC as much as I used to. I sat in front of the TV and found an episode of The Golden Girls. Those funny ladies cheered me up, got me out of my funk and helped me put the day in perspective:
I’ve come to the realization that I place far too many expectations on myself when it comes to running. I’ve only been running for a month and half and I already expect myself to be this perfect runner who never fails. It’s silly. It’s going to be hard but from here on out I’m going to try and just do my best and enjoy my workouts … even if they’re not perfect. I went out for a long walk last night here in Manhattan and I managed to salvage my day. You’d be surprised how much a Happy Meal from McD’s can lighten your mood ;) Never discount the power of little plastic toy prizes.
Today, David and I are going to meet our good friend Marissa and Ryan’s newborn baby boy Max. Then, I’m going to experience Central Park. I’m gonna run a bit, I’m sure I’m gonna walk a bit … but I’m going to enjoy myself one way or the other.
Happy Saturday!
